Our client is seeking an experienced Boat Builder and Repairer to join their team located on Russell Island in beautiful Moreton Bay, a 10-minute ferry ride from Redland Bay Marina terminal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build, assemble, and install boat components, including hulls, decks, and cabins, using various materials like fiberglass, wood, and composites;
Measure, cut, and fir Flexiteek synthetic decking onto boats, ensuring precise alignment, secure bonding, and high-quality finish;
Identify and repair structural damages in boat hulls, decks, using appropriate materials and techniques;
Sand, paint, and varnish boat surfaces, ensuring a smooth and weather-resistant finish;
Install custom modifications, including additional features like new seating, storage compartments, and upgraded decking;
Inspect boats for defects, ensure proper sealing and waterproofing, and conduct sea trials to verify performance;
Road and follow boat design blueprint, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure proper construction and repairs;
Adhere to industry safety regulations and best practices, ensuring all repairs and modifications meet legal and environmental standards.
Required Qualifications
At least:
an AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV;
an AQF (or equivalent) Certificate III, including at least two years of on-the-job-training; or
at least (3) years of relevant experience to substitute for qualification.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of full-time relevant experience working with Flexiteek deck builder.
